Why are we campaigning?

The DCMW campaign is all about disabled children and young people coming together with their families and friends to make sure that the Welsh Assembly Government makes disabled children and young people a priority over the next three years.

What do we want?

We want disabled children and their families across Wales to have the same everyday opportunities as other children and families.

Keys things we would like to see include:

• more things to do and places to go
• better access to pre-school activities
• more short breaks
• better access to community facilities
• a benefits uptake campaign.

The Welsh Assembly Government must make spending on services for disabled children and their families a priority.

What are we doing?

Contact a Family is part of the Disabled Children Matter Wales campaign.

We are:

• lobbying government to fight for rights and justice for every disabled child
• working with councils and local health boards to improve services.
